RYAN CARTER

Ryan Carter launched Scotlynn with his business partner in 2010. As a part of a larger international trucking and farming business, the Florida-based logistics company operates a state-of-the-art fleet of refrigerated tractor trailers along with freight brokerage services to assist clients ship time-sensitive products across North America. The USA Division has achieved incredible growth, averaging an annual increase in sales of 30% or more every year and an increase in employees from four to almost four hundred and fifty in thirteen years.

Ryan currently sits on several boards, including Lee Health Foundation, Horizon Foundation, and Community Cooperative. He also serves on FGCU’s Lutgert College of Business Advisory Council and Supply Chain Management Board and is a member of Leadership Florida’s Connect Class 11.

Ryan has received impressive accolades, including being named Businessperson of the Year in Florida in 2020 as well as the runner up for the USA by the US Small Business Administration, Business Observer’s 2019 40 under 40 and the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year Award through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the state of Florida.

Scotlynn has received recent recognitions, including Florida Trend & Gulfshore Business Best Places to Work Awards in 2023 & 2022, The ALAN Humanitarian Award for Employee Engagement in 2023, a Business Ethics Award by Uncommon Friends Foundation in 2021, the Large Business of Year Award through Lee County Economic Development & the Horizon Council in 2019, 7 time ranking for INC. 5000 Fastest Growing US Companies, #16 rank on 50 Florida Top Private Companies in Business Observer’s Big Book of Business, #92 rank on Florida’s Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies with INC 5000, and was named a Private Titan with INC. in 2020.

Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Kentucky in 2006. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife Amy and three boys Elijah, Lucas, and Matthew. Ryan’s hobbies include collecting bourbon, traveling, playing sports, and learning about new things.
